On 11 Feb 2013, Beverley Knight performed Twist and Shout live from Abbey Road Studios on BBC Radio 2, at the same time as The Beatles recorded it 50 years ago to the day, during a 1 day session in which they recorded their first album Please Please Me. This was the last song recorded and featured a strong vocal performance by John Lennon. Twist and Shout was a cover by the Beatles of a song notably recorded by the Isley Brothers.
